Tapered Axe Handle Dowel Wedges home decor and cutting woodThese tapered dowel wedges are made from hard maple and designed to secure axe heads firmly to wooden handles. They offer a wood alternative to traditional steel wedges, providing a reliable grip to keep your axe head tight or to fix a loose one. To use, pre bore a 3 8" hole in the top of the axe handle, then drive the wedge in to spread the wood and hold the head firmly. For added security, a small amount of wood glue can be applied before insertion.
